Fruitop is a European financed campaign and aims to promote the European fresh fruits (peaches-nectarines, apples, cherries, kiwis, apricots and table grapes) that produced in Greece, in the markets of Saudi Arabia and U.A.E. The program was proposed by the Association of Producer Organizations from Greece that consists of the ASEPOP VELVENTOU, the Agricultural Cooperative of Zagora, the Agricultural Cooperative of Rachi Pieria “AGIOS LOUKAS”, the Agricultural Cooperative Grapes Producers of Paggaio Symbol and the Agricultural Cooperative of Nestos.

ASEPOP VELVENTOS, has currently about 400 producers who are cultivating about 650 Hectares. The products of ASEPOP VELVENTOS are sold to large supermarket chains in Greece and to the domestic market. In recent years ASEPOP VELVENTOS is being export oriented, as half of the production exported to Western European countries and after the Russian embargo to the North Africa and the Middle East. In 1985, the cooperative enters a new phase of action of organized commercial enterprise. The brand is enshrined and every authentic Zagorin apple bears the sticker which makes it stand out. In 1996 the European Union recognises the apples as “Protected Designation of Origin” products. The apples are positioning across the world and conquer the international markets. Cooperative Grapes Producers Of Paggaio Symbol Cooperative Grapes Producers Of Paggaio Symbol Producer groups of fruits, vegetables and grapes "Quality - Simvolo" began as an Agricultural cooperative on 11 April 2003, having 80 members. The members could sell their products through the Cooperative, having greater potential to better prices due to the massive trading.Nowadays, the group of producers consists of 45 members. Thus, it continues to implement the Integrated Management System in accordance with GLOBAL GAP and AGRO standards, while is certifying to BRC, IFS and TESCO so as to meet the consumer’s needs. Greece
Agricultural Cooperative of Nestos Agricultural Cooperative of Nestos In 1988, the first Agricultural Cooperative of Asparagus production was founded in Kavala Nestos, region. The purpose of the Partnership was to develop and promote the cultivation of asparagus. The “Agricultural Cooperative Nestos” which includes a group of producers, beyond the asparagus production, has gained dynamic activity in crops like kiwi, apricot, peach, nectarine and plum. This is evidenced by the national and European certifications such as GLOBALGAP, BRC, IFS, ISO 22000: 2005, ISO 9001: 2008, GRASP, TNC, AGRO 2.1, AGRO 2.2 (national protocol). Peaches - Nectatines Peaches - Nectatines
European peaches and nectarines produced in Greece stand out for their aroma, colour, endurance and sweet taste. They are an excellent source of vitamins A and C and rich in beta-carotene and fiber as well.
Kiwis Kiwis
The European kiwifruit has a particular sweet-and-sour taste that people love! It is rich in vitamin C and is also an excellent source of vitamins A, E and those of the B-complex.
Apples Apples
he major varieties of European apples are the Starking Delicious, with their yellowish-white flesh and bright red skin, the Golden Delicious with a yellowish-orange colour and the Royal Gala, which are medium-sized but have a crunchy juicy flesh. Very famous and savoury are the PDO “Zagora Pelion Apples” which are known under their own denomination and are famous for their aroma and rich flavour.
Cherries Cherries
European cherries that are produced in Greece stand out for their deep red colour, their large round fruit and their crunchy succulent flesh. Cherries are harvested by hand, mostly during the months of May and June and are packed instantly under strict hygiene conditions in order to preserve all their quality characteristics.
Apricots Apricots
Europe’s temperate climate, favours the cultivation of different apricot varieties from early May through the end of August. The most known varieties are Bebeco apricots, which are big with firm flesh, as well as those of Tyrinthos and Orange apricots with bright orange color and particularly sweet flavour that mature later on.
Grapes Grapes
The European variety that stands out is the sultana, whose grape is big and seedless. Its durable, juicy flesh and its bright gold colour, makes it a unique fruit that offers both coolness and freshness.
